Hi Todd,

My Maternal Great-Grandfather, Filomeno Lucero, was originally from Argao as with my Great-Grandmother, Monica Pena. Both migrated to the island of Basilan in Mindanao maybe in the 1920's to join Monica's sister, Maria P. Navarro and her husband. I believe that Filomeno may have been a policeman in Argao prior to his leaving.

The majority of Filomeno's family remained in Zamboanga City or Lamitan, Basilan. Of his 9 children he is still survived by 3 daughters. His late son, my Grand-Uncle Jesus Lucero, practiced as an attorney near Cebu and raised his family there.

Our family does not know much of Filomeno's siblings or parents as he did not share his story with his grandchildren. I'm hoping that your research has led you to their names and possible connection to the other Lucero families.

Thanks,
Angel Brightwell, Maryland USA
