Cleofas Lucero & Josefita Bueno - Huerfano/Las Animas Colorado: Most of the information below has been obtained from the Rio Abajo Data Base: Trying to solve the mystery of this Lucero Line: From bits and pieces it appears as noted: Cleofas Lucero, son of Eugenia Hurtado & Jose Francisco Lucero was born January 1872, Colorado and married Josefita Bueno born April 1875, Colorado. Their children: Lucas Lucero b. abt. 1894 Susanna Maria Lucero b. October 1896 Leonore Lucero b. unknown [may have been known as Nora] Cleofas Lucero b. unknown [may have committed suicide] Benjamin Lucero b. unknown [may have died in Fountain] The marriage between Cleofas Lucero and Josefita Bueno was either disolved or perhaps Josefita died. Either way it appears Cleofas Lucero then married Philomena/Filomena Caplette. Rio Abajo Data base states Cleofas was killed at a dance, also killed was his Nephew Enriques Trujillo. 1910 Census Report finds Philomena/Filomena Caplette listed as a widow with two daughters; Lenore age 6, and Cleofas, age 2, it appears these two children may have been the children of Cleofas and his first wife Josefita, placing Lenore’s birth abt. 1904 and Cleofas birth abt. 1908. This also indicates the marriage between Cleofas and Philomena/Filomena would not have been for more than a couple of years. I have been unable to trace any of the children or Philomena/Filomena Caplette after 1910. Any help with any of these individuals would be greatly appreciated.
