John Laird 8/29/98
In 1815, Massee Hole, wid./Dr. John, sold 61 acres through John L. & Nancy Hole to Thomas Clawson & William Luce. These latter 2, along w/Francis Dils & John Harris, were major investors in the Farmers and Mechanics Manufacturing Company, which created/owned the town of Woodbourne, OH. The design for the [milling] machinery was supposedly brought from England by Samuel Gerrard, who started the company and named the town.
What is known of the origins & family of Samuel Gerrard?
