LUCE in Gloucestershire, England, early 1600s

Hello Folks

I see that a few years ago there were messages on this board concerning Abraham LUCE who married Cicely DARKE in Horton, Glos in 1604.

You might like to know that the Glos Record Office has the wills of two LUCE men of this period:

1616 John Luce of Horton
1637 William Luce of Horton

This first in particular might make some reference to Abraham.

Wills are obtainable from Glos Record Office via their genealogical database:
http://www.gloucestershire.gov.uk/index.cfm?articleid=1335

If you need assistance reading wills in 17th century handwriting, there is a tutorial on the National Archives (UK) website.

Hope this proves helpful to someone, sometime.
Sonia
[Unrelated to LUCE, but suspect that Joseph MERRY (1607-1710) of MV is related to my Gloucestershire MERRY family. Still no evidence has materialised, after 15 years of searching, on and off. Maybe one day!]
