PRINCETON Illinois— Roger Allen Lucas, 47, of Princeton died Thursday, Sept. 3, 2009, at Perry Memorial Hospital in Princeton.
Born Jan. 29, 1962, in Princeton to Robert S. and Eleutherius (Taylor) Lucas, he married Tacy Sharkey July 12, 1992, at Condit’s Ranch in Putnam. She survives.
He graduated from Princeton High School in 1980. He received a degree in accounting from the University of Illinois in 1984. He previously worked for the city of Princeton in the electrical department and was currently working at Del Monte Foods as a crew leader.
He was an active member of Evangelical Covenant Church. He liked riding his motorcycle, loved working out, and was a dedicated husband and father.
He is survived by his wife, Tacy Lucas of Princeton; two children, Morgan and Austin Lucas, still at home; three brothers, Robert (Diane) Lucas of Morris, Norman (Susan) Lucas of Princeton and Joseph (Brenda) Lucas of California; and numerous nieces, nephews and in-laws.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Patrick Lucas.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday September 8, 2009 at Elm Lawn Memorial Park, Princeton Illinois, with the Rev. Bernard Windmiller officiating. Burial will be in Elm Lawn Memorial Park.
There will be no visitation.
Memorials may be directed to the family.
The Norberg Memorial Home is in charge of arrangements.
