Larry, I'm sorry, but I can't help with Sarah Lucas. I don't know who she was. But Essex County did not exist until 1692, when it was created from that portion of (Old) Rappahannock County which lay south of Rappahannock River. Rappahannock County had been formed from Lancaster County in 1656. Lancaster was created in 1651 from parts of York and Northumberland Counties. So those last two counties are where you need to be looking for John and Sarah (Lucas) Lambert. If you find anything, I hope you will post it.
