Sorry I haven't answered your question about where the Luby clan came from - been away for a few months. The Luby surname (also spelled Looby, Lubie, O'Luby, etc) came from England to the best of my information - part of the Roman Empire at that time. Although the other spellings mentioned above are more recent, Luby goes back to the main clan and was used prior to surnames becoming popular.
