Lozier, James 1930 Oakland CA census
Several years ago a Leonard David Moorhead responded to my inquiry about relationship of Moorhead of Nevada, Iowa and Lozier of Oakland CA, but his e-mail was no good so contact was never made.I have envelope addressed to L D Moorhead Neveda Iowa dated 1927.It was sent from J A Lozier of Oakland CA.I find in 1930 Brooklyn twp, Oakland CA a James Lozier 31, Florence, sister 34 and Susannah 65 all born Iowa.Susannah living 1920 census 1342 East 24th Street Des Moines. In 1920 census L. D. Moorhead living Clear Creek twp, Jasper County IA with wife Etta both age 28. In some manner Moorhead and Lozier families were involved with my Rose family who lived in Clear Creek twp, Jasper County. This letter must have been given to George Rose who died 1936.In his obit it says that his 1st wife, the mother of my grandfather Alexander Rose, preceded him in death.George and Jane Gates were divorced sometime 1881-1893.She referred to having relatives in Colfax, Jasper County, IA in letter from MI to George and her son.I suspect that the 1927 letter contained notice of Jane's death.I know of no other reason for an envelope to have been in George's things(probably contained letter until envelope torn to remove stamp). A Florence and Lawrence Moorhead died in Aberdeen IA in 1970s. Who was James LOzier and could he have been son of Jane Gates Rose?
