My grandfather, Jose Loya Portillo, was born in 1877.His mother was Benigna Portillo. He married Adela Giner, who was also from Parral, Mexico. My father was Jose Loya Giner, who married my mother, Adela Apodaca. She also came from the Olivos de Cienega, which I understand, near Parral or the City of Chihuahua. I have some information, that the Loya family of Spain and Portugal originated in the lugar of Loya, del Apuntamiento de Asprogi, judicial district of Aoiz in Navarra, Spain.Reference: Cronica de la Probincia de Santander, Enciclopedia Heraldica.Loya Armas: De gules, con una torre de piedra y un lebrel atado a la puerta.Bordura de plata ocho arminos de sable. Also information that Loya: originated in Viscaya in the 15th century.Oya-recipiente Oya(latin) ondo.
