Hi Betty,
Are you trying to test me? You know, at my age I never remember everything, and sometimes almost nothing. But, yes you answered all my questions. If you are really serious about genealogy I do recommend you get some software. These forums are an excellent place to find information, hints and clues; but they are usually pretty limited.I have gotten some excellent clues through forum, but it has been the CDs I got with my software that has really filled the family pedegrees with dates and historical data that I would have never found. For example, I was looking for my mother's mother's family for over three years and finally got some info through a forum.at that point I only had about eight of her ancestors.Four months later, I now have over three hundred that go back thirteen generations.
Pat Murray sent me some info in one of the formats which I have on my software so I suspect he is also using "Family Tree Maker".This is a set which comes in several sizes (number of CDs included) which can be purchased in Wallmart, Sam's Club, KMart, andabout any store that carries computer software.I highly recommend it.But, Check with other people who are using it or another for their opinions. Example- I found one French Canadian ancestor who was captured by Indians at age fourteen during a raid in Mass and taken to Ontario. The French changed his name from Farnsworth to Faneuf. He later married and spent the rest of his life in Canada.
Beforeyou buy, contact me and I'll pass on some things to look for.Believe me, you will be amazed---and your husband will hate me because you will be on the computer 32 hours a day (ask my wife)!!
Regards,
Dick
