The 1851 Canadian Census(partial) is FREE on Ancestry.com
There is an entry that you might be interested in:
A Thomas Logue (age 9) was living with Jean Baptiste and Marie Logue (both age 49) in Lacolle, Huntingdon County, Quebec.Logue is a common misspelling of Loyer.Lacolle is less than 10 miles from Champlain, NY.Be sure to read through the 2 pages following the page listing the names. It gives other information on the families.
There were four families living with Jean Baptiste Logue.Joseph Logue, with wife and son, George Thibeault with wife Celina, and the Belaire family.
I have found references to a George Thibeault marring a Celina Loyer, dau of Jean Baptiste Loyer and Marie Roussel.
The census shows that Jean Baptiste was from L'Assomption and that Thomas was born in St. Pie.Hope this gives you a lead.Happy hunting!
