Scott,
Hi! My great-grandmother was Bishop's sister Lucy Ann Lowry. Their siblings were:
John W., Margaret E., William Augustine Jr., America (Marinda, Amanda), Sarah, Henry Green, James Neal, Matilda, and Samuel Dunn.
The Lowry's came to Texas with my other great grandparents the Henry Claude Bennett family. Some of the Lowry's went to Oklahoma as did my great grandfather Bennett. He came back to Texas after a while.
Some of the Lowry's made their home in the Wellington area, Collingsworth Co., Texas and are buried there. Sarah Elizabeth Dunn, wife of William Lowry Sr. came to Texas with the family (William died in Missouri), and she is buried in Wellington, Collinsworth Co., Texas in the Memorial Gardens Cemetery. I have been to her gravesite as well as some of the other Lowry's buried in the two cemeteries there. William A. Lowry Sr. was born ca 1813-1815 in Kentucky, and died 09/1865 in Ripley Co., Missouri.
Sarah E. Dunn was born 06/01/1821 in Kentucky, and died on 11/19/1907 in Collingsworth Co., Texas. They were married in 1834.
Two years ago I went to Gatewood, and went to some cemeteries in Ripley Co., Missouri but failed to find William A. Lowry Sr.'s gravesite.
I have more info, it's just hard to get it all down here.
Would like to hear from you.
