Alpheus Lowrance was born April 29, 1829 in Raleigh, McNairy Co., TN to Isaac Lowrance and Mary. He foought in the Civil War and Catherine drew a pension on this. Their children were Mary, Cynthia Jane, Isaac Harmon, Elisa Victoria, Willam Billy Marion,
John Bell and Thomas. Alpheus and Catherine moved to a place near McCloud (McLoud is the current spelling locaated in Pottawatomie County) where Alpheus is said to have died and been burried. Catherine moved back to Fox, Stone Co., AR. I believe the ancestors of Alpheus go like this: Isaac, Abraham, Peter, Alexander and Johanes (Lowrentz). It is said that Johanes was French but fled to Germany then came to the Americas. I have much more information. Please write to me.
I believe the Mary Jane in the following post is also realated as well as the Elisa Victoria. I have a picture of Alpheus.
