I just went and dug up my family group sheet on this family. Most of the information on names and birthdates comes from a journal that was kept by Wiliam Irving Hood, Caroline's son.
I have also seen microfilm copies of the parents' death certificates. While the dates are accurate, the listed names for father and mother of decesed are suspect. Census records seem to confirm Richard's parents as Matthias and Mary (Wheeler) Lowman.
