Ellen was born in Logansport, cass county, IN.on 31 March 1866 She married David Gerhart on 14 August 1882 in Logasnsport, Cass County, IN. MY grandmother told me that little was know of Ellen (her grandmother) We was told she was raised in an orphanage in Bellfontaine, OH. It is beliveded that one of her parents may have been either Negro or indian.
Ellen died on 06 May 1936 In Mishawaka, St. Joe County, In. Her obit said she had 2 surviving brothers Joseph and Pell. funeral home records show her mother's name was Rachel. If you have any info please let me know. Thank you
