I am Caroline Lowman's great-granddaughter. She married William Henry Hood in 1895. They were the parents of 9 children:
Eva Hellene-b. 1896
William Irving-b. 1898
Gertrude Christine-b. 1900
Richard Elmer-b. 1903 (my maternal grandfather)
Masie Estelle-b. 1906
Carrie Viola-b. 1908
Russell Lee-b. 1911
Ethel May-b. 1914
Woodrow Lowman-b. 1915

Of the lot, only Woodrow is still living. Masie and Ethel died in infancy. Irving was a lifelong bachelor. All the rest married and raised families.

The Hood and Lowman families in my ancestry seem to be very intertwined. Three generations of Hood males married Lowman females and one Lowman male married a Hood female. Cousin marriages were very common in the 19th century. All my Hoods and Lowmans were affiliated with the Nichol-Bethel Methodist Church in Odenton, MD. I've been to the church cemetery and have checked out materials in the MD Hall of Records relevant to these families.
