Thanks for the website, Don. This is getting more complicated with each development. The "definite" in my family is Martin Luther Lower of Indiana, PA because my mother knew him personally (her grandfather). The census record I found from West Wheatfield township, Indiana County, PA, 1880 shows him at age 5 (which is supported by other research), his mother age 44, and his father age 73. That would mean my Samuel was born about 1807 and couldn't be your Samuel who was born in 1818. I thought perhaps my Samuel could be the same one found in the website you referenced by John Tippet because he has a Samuel who also married a much younger Elizabeth at the age of 71, but that marriage took place in OH instead of PA and the ages are again slightly off. It's hard to believe there would be two different Samuels in their 70s having children with two different Elizabeths, but I'll keep searching.
