I am trying to prove or disprove our Native American ancestry. I need either a look up or assistance on where to document/verify an ancestor.
This is the hard part, according to family lore I have several variations of what her name might be. They are as follows:
She is possibly from the possibly from the Miami tribe from Ohio or Indiana
Soc-O-Chos-Quah or Soc-O-Chos-Quan
Christina Lower - She was also known as Jane or Jennie.
Also, John Hale - his second wife was said to be a Native American named Betsy.
From what I can gather from the various stories, she was married to John Hale. He moved in the 1830's to Iowa along with the Lower family and died out there about 1844. This part is confusing to me because I was told that his name was John Lower Hale, Sr.
This is a brief synopsis of information that I have compiled so far. I still need to document and verify this:
Thomas Hale b. Abt. 1756 Burnley, Lancashire, England d. Virginia. I have no information on his spouse or how/when he arrived in Virginia.

Any information on this family, sibling, parents, spouses, etc. will be appreciated.
I also love old photos, so if anyone can share any photos, copies of records, etc., it will mean a lot to me.
