Henry Loe's birth eludes me. He died April 13th, 1895 in Mount Pleasant and is buried at All Saint's Church, there.
Charlotte Watson's birth eludes me still, as well as a marriage to Henry Loe/Lowe
On Nov 18, 1902 Charlotte died of a heart attack in the post office in Mount Pleasant while buying a ticket for the train to join the family who was moving to Brantford and had left earlier. Charlotte had recently been in hospital suffering typhoid fever and was taking the train to make the trip easier on her. She is buried in the Loe plot at All Saints too. Martha is also there with them.
Henry, his son was born Harry Timothy Watson (illegitimate) August 1, 1880 in Glandford, county ofWentworth.
Martha Loe's birth elides me to this day. I believe she may NOT be Charlotte's child due to Harry Watson's birth which indicates he is illegitimate. Perhaps she is an offspring of a marriage of Henry Loe and an unknown in England or Canada prior to meeting Charlotte Watson.
Amy Maud Loe was born in Mount Pleasant on March 5, 1885
Lucy Sophia Loe also born in Mount Pleasant on July 29, 1886. My Loe genealogy connects with her in my mom's READ line. Martha Loe marriedCharles Read( date unknown) and later after her death on July 29, 1902 he took her sister Lucy as his *wife* to help raise Martha's children. Charles married her many years later on May 25, 1915.
I too have heard the story relating to Napolean's jailer but have not made any connections to Loe/Lowe other than what I have posted.
Carol Watson (<----no known connection to the Charlotte Watson lineage)
