Fraternally, he was affiliated with all the bodies of the Masonic fraternity, and was a member of the Knights of Pythias Lodge.He was a member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church and was active in the Sunday School and Brotherhood.
Surviving are his widow; a son, Robert M. Loe, a student at the Cincinnati School of Embalming; and two brothers, George Loe of Springfield, and Charles Loe of Yellow Springs, Ohio.

Death Of Howard Loe Draws Tribute
The recent death of Howard A. Loe, 66, of Van Wert, Ohio, was commented upon by the Van Wert paper as follows:
Howard A. Loe, 66, former mayor and one of Van Wert County's best known citizens, died suddenly of a heart attack, shortly after 6 pm Wednesday at the family home at Main and Shannon Streets.His condition had been critical since Tuesday night, when he was stricken by kidney complications that affect the heart.
Mr. Loe had conducted a funeral home in Ohio City and Van Wert for 38 years, and at the time of his death was president of the District Funeral Director's Association, which embraces counties in Northwestern Ohio.
The deceased, a native of Greene County, Ohio, was born June 27, 1873 and was a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Loe.He received his education in Greene County public schools and after receiving his state embalmer's license moved to Ohio City in 1901.While in Ohio City he conducted a funeral home and furniture store.During that time, he served several years as treasurer for Liberty Township.
He moved to the present location of the Loe Funeral Home in 1919.Two years later he was elected on the Democratic ticket as mayor of this city, and was reelected in 1923.Since his public office retirement he had devoted his time to his work as a funeral director.
He was prominent in business and civic affairs in the county, and besides being identified with the district, state and national funeral directors association he was a charter member of the Kiwanis Club, the Community Clearing House and (Rest cut off).
