we have been wondering about this Aquilla, as we have several in our line. i do have this, don't know if it's the same man.
Passes given by Return J. Meigs, permission to travel through Indian territory.
Aquilla Lowe, has permission to pass to Eustinali to look for horses and return.........22 June 1803
there is also an Aquilla Lowe listed on the Settlers and Intruders on Cherokee Indian Lands, 1801-1816, National Archives, lists of persons working on drawing line between , North Carolina and the Cherokee's , or who supplied materials , found recorded on July 25, 1802
Aquilla Lowe, 500 pounds of bacon
the Aquilla name was also passed down through my Scott line
I give permission for Aqilla Scott , esqr. & Mr. John Ackworth to pass to Jackson Co. Ga. thro the Cherokee Agency ........Sept. 16, 1801
hope this helps
