Lily/Lillian Luginbühl/Miller Teagarden Lowe
Lily/Lillian Luginbühl/Miller Teagarden Lowe
I am seeking information about one of my grandfather’s sisters and her descendants.
According to the records in Southeast Town, Putnam Co, NY, Lily or Lillian was born
17 March, 1885 to John Logenbuhl (actually, Luginbühl) and Elese (actually, Elise) Ruch. She was the only American-born child of these Swiss immigrants. Her death certificate gives her date of birth as 18 March 1885, but the information for that certificate was supplied by a non-relative.
Lily’s father had died 1 Jan 1885, four years after the family immigrated. Her widowed mother soon moved her family to Eureka, CA, to join her brother, John N Rush.Elise remarried in 1890.At some point prior to 1897, the four children--John Albert, Emily Ida Wertz, Sophie Edith Kuhn, and Lily A--all adopted the occupational name “Miller.”
Lily’s death certificate uses “Lillian A” and gives her last married name, Lowe. She died 10 Jan 1961 in the then Los Angeles County General Hospital. She was buried 27 Jan 1961 in Valhalla Cemetery, now the Pierce Brothers Valhalla Memorial Park, North Hollywood.I do not know why burial was delayed although the death certificate was not signed until 25 Jan.She died of multiple cerebral thromboses due to hypertensive arterisclerotic [sic] disease--i.e., stroke due to high blood pressure.
This is the sum of the documented evidence.Oral family history says she married at least twice, to men surnamed Teagarden and Lowe; and one sister’s obituary gives her last name as Bell. She supposedly had a son named Edwin, but I don’t know his surname.
I would appreciate any information about Aunt Lily, her spouses, and her descendants.I’m more than willing to share what I have about her ancestors, her siblings, and their descendants.
