Low pronounced like "now"

I am anxiously waiting for my brothers DNA results to see if I can determine country of origin. I have been researching every John Low that came out of South Carolina to find the one married to Phoebe Murry. I am wondering if we can find additional links in how the last name is pronounced. The English tend to pronounce the name like "NO" whereas The Dutch and Germans tend to say Low like "now".I am also thinking that all of the UK use the English pronunciation. Does anyone have more info on this idea?
