I am looking for some one that has researched the Lovin's, in Richmond and Montgomery, Co. N.C.
In the 1830 census for Montgomery, Co. N.C. we have Samuel Lovin, he is living in the same area as my Richardson's, they are both on the same "page 79, 1830 census East". My 3th. great grandparents named one of their son's Lovin Richardson.
On this same page there are the Butler's, Reynolds, Allen's, Green's, Haltom's, Cupples, Freeman's, Simmons's.
All the above names are all kin to the Richardson's.
In the War Between the States, we had in Montgomery, Co. N.C. "Co. H, 44th. Regiment N.C. Troops", there are two Lovin's along with my Richardson's, and all in same Company.
We have :
James T. Lovin, born in Richmond, Co. N.C. where he resided as a farmer prior to enlisting in Montgomery, Co. at age 22. March 1, 1862.
William R. Lovin, born in Richmond, Co. N.C. where he resided as a blacksmith prior to enlisting in Richmond, at age 34, on March 1, 1862.
Lovin Richardson, born in Montgomery, Co. N.C. where he resided as a farmer prior to enlisting in Montgomery, Co. N.C. at age 41, on March 21, 1862.
Goodman Richardson, he was a farmer and his age was 37, joined on March 1, 1862.
These two Richardson's, are son's of John R. and Jane Richardson, Sr. he was a blacksmith.
Samuel Fountain, born in Bladen, Co. N.C. and a resided of Montgomery, Co. N.C. he was a farmer joined on March 1, 1862. His age was 21. He was also married to one of John R. Richardson's, daughter's.
I know that some of the Richardson's, did move to Richmond, Co. N.C. Some of the Richardson, researchers say that Jane, wife of John R., could have been a Lovin, we don't no her last name.
We had other kin in the 44th. Reg. there is also a William K. Freeman, in this same company, and he is from Richmond, Co. N.C. he was 33, and joined on the same day March 1, 1862.
