Posted by: Bill Dottery Date: September 07, 2000 at 05:42:47
  of 282

My 2nd great grandfather was William Calvin LOVING/LOVERN born 1828 Place in question either VA or GA. married to Louisa CENTER/SENTER 26 Oct 1847 remarried to Mary E. WILLIAMS 11 Dec 1892. death date unknown. William Calvin and Louisa had the following Children: John Gordon N. b 15 Jan 1849 Clarke Co, GA and Susan Frances b 2 Feb 1852
William Calvin had the following siblings:
Granderson Field 26 Sep 1830
Susan 1833
Oliver Theodore 1835
Sarah 1838
Amanda J. Aug 1840
Their mother was Susan born abt 1808, I think in South Carolina. Susan remarried in 1850 to David BUCHANAN. I think John is the father of WILLIAM C. LOVERN
The book "THE LOVING FAMILY IN AMERICA" thinks his name might be John as found on page 681, XA.

1840 Clarke County Georgia census shows JOHN LUVIN with the following:
1 Male 5/Under 10
2 Males 10/Under 15
1 Female Under 5
1 Female 5/ Under 10
1 Female 10/Under 15
This would fit by taking the names and ages from the above book..
WILLIAM C. LOVERN AGE 12 SUSAN AGE 7
GRANDERSON AGE 10 SARAH AGE 2
OLIVER T. AGE 5 ARMINDA AGE 1 MO.
Granderson F. married Elizabeth HEMRICK 15 Jul 1855. Oliver T. married Palina marriage date unknown. I do not have information on the marriage of any of the girls. Does anyone connect with any of these families?
