Dear Mary & Leonard,
I am also looking for William Joseph Lovett. I do know that he died in 1879 and was married to a Sally Walters at the time. They had 2 sons. One was William who I believe had a handicap of a missing leg, and the other was named Ed. Ed was born in April 1880 and I think William Jr. ws a few years younger. I do know that Sally and William Sr. did not get along. William Sr. died 4 months before Ed was born. When Ed was born, Sally could not care for both children, so she left Ed in Lake City , Fl with her brother who was an undertaker. Sally took William Jr. and moved to Golden, MS. When William grew up, he moved to Texas and had 2 children. I have no idea where. Ed married Viola Blanton and they had 5 children. They are buried in Fellowship Baptist Cemetery in Madison Co. I hope this helps, as the names do sound familiar. I have been researching William Sr. for some time and can't find out anything about him except that he may have come from the Carolina's in the mid-late 1800's. The Lovett family worked in the timer field and were mostly all lumberjacks.
Please reply,
Leba
