Frederick? Hmmm, might be a connection.
I came to Australia with my father Alec (Edward Alexander) and mother Joan, in 1950/51, from Plymouth, England. My grandfather was Arthur Stanley Lovell, also of Plymouth. He used to joke that his grandfather was a pawnbroker on the Isle of Dogs. Or maybe it was actually so. I think his father was a bandsman in the Royal Navy, Royal Marines or Army. Anyway, I believe Arthur Stanley was one of several siblings, who split up and went different ways; one, I know, to East London, South Africa. It seems to me that other/s may have come to Australia earlier than we did. This observation is based on seeing a couple of old photographs shown me by a Lovell who was head of Tattersall's Lotteries in melbourne at the time. He was astounded by my resemblance to his cousin. Just be interesting to see who's out there, where and what they're doing.
