In an attempt to find the parents of my Mary Ann Loveless Hunt, I have ordered copies of several Loveless wills. I have posted the will of Hiram Lovelace, Monroe Co., NY, in a seperate message. Here is a summary of the information I have compiled on Hiram. Unfortunately, he is not the father of my Mary Ann.

Hiram Lovelace
Gates, Monroe Co., NY

Hiram Lovelace’s will was dated June 4, 1864. He left everything to his wife Mary Lovelace. At the death of his wife, he left everything to be divided between his daughter Julia Barsdale, son Nelson G. Lovelace, daughter Harriet E. Congdon and his deceased daughter, Lydia McGonegal’s daughter Frances A. McGonegal.
Hiram was born Aug. 25, 1797; died Aug. 10, 1864. He is buried in Brighton Cemetery, Rochester, NY (Brighton cemetery, Monroe Co. genweb site). At the time of his death he was married to Mary Reynolds, born April 19, 1806, died July 26, 1872. I believe Mary was his second wife and son Nelson was a child of that marriage.
Julia A. Lovelace Barsdale was born April 9, 1828 and died Dec. 26, 1891. She was the wife of Carlisle Barsdale, born June 1, 1826, died Nov. 7, 1904. Julia and Carlisle are also buried in Brighton Cemetery.
Lydia A. Lovelace was the first wife of Henry B. McGonegal and they had one child, Frances A. McGonegal (Biographies of Monroe County People, page 24). Lydia died in 1863, before Hiram Lovelace wrote his will. She was age 39 at her death so she would have been born about 1824. Lydia is buried in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Rochester, NY.
Nelson G. Lovelace was born 1842 and died 1916. He is also buried in Mt. Hope cemetery. In the 1870 census, he was living in Gates, Monroe Co. with wife Kitty, daughter Jennie, age 7 and mother Mary. Also living with him was a Congdon and Barsdale child as farm laborers. I could not find Harriet Congdon in a search of Monroe Co. I did find a Harriet Congdon as wife of Ephraim Congdon, living in Onondaga Co., in the 1870 census.
