In a news story datelined "Chesterfield, Bannock Co., Ida, Nov. 24," the Deseret Evening News of Great Salt Lake City UT, 6 DEC 1902, p. 7, reported: "On the morning of the 12th inst., Anson C. LOVELAND, of this place passed from this stage of action after an illness of only a few days, caused by taking a severe cold. Deceased was born in Bountiful, Utah, March 11, 1853; is a son of Chester and Fanny LOVELAND. He resided at Brigham City and Deweyville quite a portion of his life; married Lydia R. CALL, August 7, 1874; was counselor to Bishop John DEWEY of Deweyville for four years; moved to Chesterfield 18 years ago, where he has since resided until his death. When the Chesterfield ward was organized in 1885 Elder LOVELAND was called to act as a ward teacher, and labored faithfully in that calling ever since. When the Bannock stake was organized in July, 1898, he was chosen an alternate High Councilman, and has promptly responded to every call made of him in that capacity. He has been a worker in the Sunday school; was an exemplary man throughout his entire life, and all who knew him knew nothing but good of him. He leaves a wife and seven children and three grandchildren to mourn his departure."
