From Georgia Journal (Milledgeville), issue of Oct 26, 1814: Administrator's Sale, will be sold, at the late residence of Edward Lovejoy, deceased, on Beach Island in Jackson County, on Tuesday the 27th of December next, four negroes --- it being part of the estate of the said deceased. (signed) William Lovejoy, Adm'r, Jemima Lovejoy, Adm'rx.
That tells us that there was no will because William and Jemima were administrators of the estate and that he may have been buried on the homeplace - Beach Island. I don't know where that is. Never heard of a Bible. My ancestor was Edward M. Lovejoy. Simeon Lovejoy reported his place of birth as South Carolina, so assume they married there. SC did not require any marriage bond or license until after 1900.
