There were other men in the family named John Petray. I have no direct connection with the Petray line--just step-family connection and in-law connections--this is with the family after they settled in old Chickasaw Nation area along Red River; some of the Petray line went to California. There is also a connection between Mash/Nash line of Shannon/Reynonds Counties of Missouri with the Petray line in Oklahoma-- a Mash daughter married Jack Petray--- their 50th anniversary was posted on the Petrey genforum site. There is also a connection between these surnames and the Satterfield/Sutterfield families who lived in the same areas of Arkansas and Reynolds Co., Arkansas--branched to old Chickasaw Nation, also, some going through Texas before returning to south central Oklahoma.

As far as the different families who were in San Saba County, Texas, I don't know, similarities exist in Arkansas and some in San Saba.
