I am looking for anyone with knowledge of the origins/father/husband of the following family: 1870 & 1880 Levy County [outside of Cedar Key], Florida Federal Census May [Mary] A. Love, abt 1832, Florida Fanny [Sarah Frances] Love, 1850, Florida James [Thomas "James" or J.L.] Love, 1855, Florida Madison [John McQueen] Love, 1857, Florida Maggie, 1860, Florida Lelan L., 1865, Florida Twin Leliz L., 1865, Florida Twin Hard to believe they were born in Florida.... Thomas "J." married with that name but never used it. They seem to be closely related to the Duncan Love family of 1860 - 1880 Decatur County, Georgia [west of the Flint River]. His family is as follows: Duncan Love, abt 1832, NC [probably not his first name] Sarah A. wife 1836, SC Laura, 1859, GA Joseph [died young], 1860, GA James, 1861, GA [middle initial A or H] Mary J., 1865, GA Emma, 1870, GA Neddy, [son], 1877, GA Duncan Love's mother was probably Mrs. Polly Love, widow on the same census records. So I got several widows.... Widow Sara, dau. Mary J. and son James seem to be in Alachua County, Florida by 1900 to take over the farm of the Thomas "James" Love [J. L. Love above] near Trenton, Florida. His wife Jane/Janie Smith had died in 1890. One of his sons William Felton is in a Georgia Military Boarding School in 1900. But he [Thomas "James" or J. L.] is not to be found. There was only one Love farm next to my Sanders and Mason farms.... Thanks Notify Administrator about this message?
