Faith, thanks for the details, yes you have many leads and a great deal of research to do. you might find the following useful www.origins.net and ww.scotsorigins.com who have 37 million records on hand dating from 1533 to 1926 with censuses from 1881, 1891 and 1901, the censuses might be less useful to you as your branch of the family were certainly in Canada before they were taken. There is also a help page www.scotsorigins.com/help/About.aspx.
