Hello. I am Victor James Loutit, from Vancouver Island, son of Harry oscar Loutit, from Fort Chipewyan, grandson of John James Loutit,(JJ),from Fort Chipewyan,great-grandson of Peter Loutit, who lived in Ft. Chip,(though I think he was born in the Winnipeg area),and great-great-grandson of Lowe Loutit, who I believe came to York Factory in Hudson`s Bay from the Orkneys in 1835. I managed to spend a couple days in the HBC archives in Winterpeg last year,(note-NOT ENOUGH TIME!!!),and I do have the `facts` around somewhere, although off the top of my head,I believe the above is accurate. I should mention the highlight of my trip-finding out my g-g-granddad was buried at st.Andrews on the Red,close to Winnipeg,so went to find his stone the morning of my flight home! Despite my best efforts (in the -23 weather),I couldn`t find it. O well.
