I am searching for a lineage line for the Gilman LOUGEE who was living in Parsonfield, York Co., Maine as of the 1850 census. (I didn't check the ones prior to that) According to this census he was listed as Gilman Lougee, 1st age 53 farmer b. ME his wife Sarah age 39 John E. Enoch W. Lucy Susan Sarah Elizabeth age 84 b. NH (his mother??) Abigail ALLY(?) age 73 b. NH (an Aunt perhaps?) Gilman LOUGEE, 2nd age 33 Almira R. age 29 Juliet age 8 Mary A. age 6 Amelia age 5 Clara D. age 3 Hugh age 1 and Abner MOODY age 45 laborer b. NH (who is my specific interest in all of this as I believe he may be a grandson of my 5th grt. grandfather James Moody who may have been b. NH himself). I believe Abner is a brother to the Joseph Moody b.c1795) living in Wolfboro, Carroll Co., NH in the 1850 census who named a son of his Abner J. Moody (who ended up in Natick and then Boston, MA working as a confectioner). I noted another lineage line on this page given for a Gilman Lougee who had family ties to the LEAVITT's and other names from NH. My own 5th grt. grandfather James Moody's mother was a Leavitt too and that is why I am wondering if there is not some distant family link here between this Gilman Lougee who obviously had someone surnamed "Gilman" in his family, which also ties into my Moody family. Thank you for any help on this at all. Notify Administrator about this message?
