Louden Family Genealogy Forum

This family has lots of puzzles! We have a prayer-book inscription for Margaret Joseph, written by her Church of England priest/curate or whatever he was, of Ballyinasloe, Galway, on the eve of her going to America, I believe in 1852. I know that my mother-in-law, Jeanette Osborne Sniffen of Norwalk, talked of a relative Isabella Louden(on), and I have found them in the census. Whether she considered her an aunt, a great-aunt, or a cousin--I don't know. What occupation did you find for James, and which census? I think he worked in a factory, actually. Some of the Loudons seem to have been farmers, from Jean's stories (Jeannette, called Jean) I believe there was a Bob Loudon who was a farmer, perhaps the generation older than Jean. I have used the Norwalk directories, which have numerous Loudons. Do you live anywhere near Norwalk?
We paid for some genealogical research in the Galway Hist. Society, but it is really rather inconclusive, as there seem to be a number with the same name. Some are Roman Catholic and some are Church of England.
