Hi Bob! Missed you at the family reunion at the lake. I brought the pictures that my grandmother had, which included a picture of Sylvester and Harriet. In response to the Indian connection. I thought that my grandmother said that it was on the Shores family side. Anyway, I found two obituaries in Crawford County, PA that referred to Elijah and Abigail dying in 1881 and 1882 in their early eighties. The obits mentioned that they had lived in Buffalo Twp in Crawford Co., and that they were living in Pierpont. Mom and I went to the three cemeteries in Pierpont. We were looking for Elijah and Abigail in the oldest section, so we missed them since they died in 1881 and 1882. (Did not find the grave sites in the Gould [Rd.] Cemetery or the Hall Rd Cemetery [the oldest, near the old center of Pierpont].) I sent an e-mail to Russell with the contact person for the cemetery. He also has all the other info that I was able to quickly roundup on my visit to Jefferson. Try to contact Ray Shores in Jefferson. He was doing research on the Shores Family several years ago. (80's). The deeds listed the property that Kate Shores Louden had and went back to Lewis J. Shores and then found it again in 1885 with Lewis Shores (LJS's father?). Keep in touch!
