Not sure if it's a connection or not since a lot of the first names repeat from generation to generation but I have a possible Lotz connection. My line is from George and Barbara Lotz(believe he immigrated from germany?). There children were: George(jr?), John, Charles, Joseph, Magdalene "Lena", Margaret, and Clara. There was an eighth child that died in infancy. My mother is the Daughter of Lena Lotz whom married Clarence Joseph Christ. Both the Lotz's and Christ's lived in the Pittsburgh/Allegheny County area in the late 1800's/early 1900's. All of the Lotz girls moved to Oakland, California. We have no info on any of the Lotz boys other than we believe Charles married a woman by the name of Mary.

The Lotz children were all born in the late 1800's so maybe your John and George are the same...hopefully!!! I am stuggling with my Lotz research, haven't been able to find any connections so far! Please let me know what info you may have so that we can see if there's a connection.
