Charles G. Loase - Michigan/USA
My g-g-grandfather was Charles G. Loase. He was born 4 Feb 1842 in Detroit, Michigan.
He went to California in 1859 on a gold mining expedition. After 5 years he returned to Greenville, Michigan and entered the contracting and building business. He married, 3 Sep 1867, Frances Norton, a teacher in the Greenville schools. They had five children. In 1873 they moved to Altona, Michigan where Loase was in the Mercantile business. In 1880 they moved to Reed City where he established the first bank in town, The First National Bank. They later moved to Sparta where he owned and operated a hardware store for 17 years. Charles Loase retired in 1913. He died 6 Dec 1930 in Sparta, Kent County, Michigan.
I would be very interested in communicating with anyone who may be researching this or a similar line.
Thanks!
