Hello:

Private William Losee, who was in the 7th Calvary, Co. F and killed at the Battle of LBG was my gggrandmother's brother. He was born in Brewster NY in 1852, the son of Joseph Losee and Phoebe Garnsey of Brewster. He was a descendant of the Westchester County Losee's, which I have traced as far back as Daniel Losee (1762-1844) of Yorktown. I have been unable at this point to connect Daniel to the immigrant ancestor, Jan Corneliszen de Zeeuw, whom apparently all Losee's descend from. Hope that helps.
