Dear Losees:

My greatX2 grandmother on my Father's side was Sarah Losee Rich, wife of Benjamin Rich of Yorktown, New York. The 1880 U.S. Census states that Sarah was born in England and also gives the name of her Mother as Maria Losee. Apparently by 1880 Sarah's Father is deceased. I am trying to identify him and find out when the Losee family came to America. The 1860 U.S. Census also lists the children of Benjamin Rich and Sarah Losee Rich. They are:

Charles, age 15, born about 1865.
George, age 13, born about 1867.
Jennie Victoria, age 10, born about 1870. She is my paternal grandmother's Mother.

A Tompkins Genealogy found in the records of the Yorktown Historical Society states the Benjamin and Sarah were married at St. Peter's Episcopal Church in Peekskill, New York. The Church still exists but I have yet to contact them about the marriage record - or any baptism records, etc.

Any clues regarding my Losee ancestors are greatly appreciated.

Tim Mullen
