Benjamin Loring, Am. born British Loyalist, died 1787, portrait
The November 2005 issue of MAINE ANTIQUE DIGEST magazine on p. 39-C pictures a portrait of Benjamin Loring, American born but British Loyalist, who died in 1787. The portrait is by John Singleton Copley. It sold at auction for $473,500.
I am scanning this portrait in case any of the Loring family might like a copy, either by email or by postal mail. Even though the reproduction of the portrait is poor because it is printed on newsprint, somebody in the family ought to have it--it's too good to be missed by the family.

If it were a portrait of a Mr. Pease, I'd certainly want someone to do the same for me.
