Hi Jeanne,

Here's what I know about John Loring, Rebecca's father:

LORING, CAPT. JOHN - Plympton, Mass. Commanded Co. in Col. Joseph Thatcher's Regt., Crown Point Expedition, 1755-'56.

He was captain of the Bridgewater company which marched to Crown Point in September, 1755; was encamped at Fort Edward July 25, 1756. General Winslow in a dispatch from Fort William Henry, October 28, 1756, says Captain Loring was sent off with a wagon for the transportation of the sick. He was "probably" killed in that campaign or in 1759.

Rebecca was one of 13 children!
