I am one of the "Lorenzen's of Foehr" (although I now live in Miami). The name "Bernhard" shows up in my family history, so it is possible that there is some connection. My great Grandfather was a wool -dier and there is a street in the town of Nieblum named after him -- Bernhard Farber Straat (Bernhard the wool diers street). I have been wanting to more carefully map out my families history, but alas I have been too busy with everyday pressures of life. If you ever get to Northern Germany/ Southern Denmark you will find the place is stock full of Lorenzen's all over the place -- like "Cohen's in NYC, Perez's in Miami and Smith's in Madison --

Good luck with your efforts.

I will direct my father to this site (he knows 85% of the people still living that were born on Foehr -- if not more -- and his brothers and sister know the rest so maybe he can add to your knowledge base ....
