Dear Judy and Shannon, I am interested in learning more about John Lorenz who came from Germany to America around 1879. There was a John or Johann Lorenz (c. 1849-c.1928), who married Augusta Westphal (c.1849-c.1924) around 1874. They came to America with one daughter in about 1879 or 1880. By 1900, they were living in Faribault Co., Minnesota. The eldest daughter died of cancer at age 20, and another daughter fell in a boiling wash kettle and died when she was very young. There was also a stillborn baby. The only child to survive was Herman A. Lorenz (1886-1967). The Lorenz family sponsored Augusta's sister, Lena (born c. 1854) and her husband William A. Sens (c.1852-1932) and several children, to come to America in about 1892. They also lived in Faribault County, Minnesota, and had twelve children, 10 of whom were living in 1900. I have the names of several of them. Later, the Lorenzes sponsored Augusta and Lena's half sister, Henrietta Peters (1865-1922) and her husband Heinrich Friedrick Johann Pankow (1859-1933) and their four sons, Alfred, Herbert, Ernest and Walter, to come to America in 1906. They arrived on 1 April 1906, and came to live in Faribault Co., Minnesota, as well. The second son, Herbert Heinrich Gustauv Pankow (1898-1970) was my grandfather. I am most interested in whatever I can learn about the Westphall and Peters families, and thought some Lorenzes might be able to give me some information. Best Regards, John Field Pankow Notify Administrator about this message?
