Andrea,I am a direct descendant of the John Lord & Elizabeth Cottrell of which you speak. And, like you, have hit a dead end on their background.I do have some questions, however, about reference to their travels via Mass, Nova Scotia, prior to settlement on PEI.Where are the sources for these assertions?I have heard this oral record and do not know whether to give it credence.Records in Charlottetown (been there 3 times), have a John Lord on the Island as early as the very earliest written journals, i.e. 1767-1769. He received stores as payment for work. What he did is not clear, but what they gave him, is very clearly documented.I came through John Lord, Jr and Charlotte Gouldrup, to Joseph Lord & Anne Nicholson (they moved to Lobo, Ontario), to W.W. Lord & Elizabeth Briggs (he moved to Michigan), to John Lord & Margaret Jane Eastman, to my father Clarence Lord & Mary Jane Graham.Where are you in the descendency, I would enjoy knowing?I also know a PEI native, a cousin who has all the Island Lord genealogy, or at least I couldn't find any gaps.If you want more information, please reply. Thanks, Mary Greene
