Sam Lopez
SHREVEPORT, LA - Funeral services celebrating the life of Sam Lopez, 82, will be held at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, September 3, 2009 at Rose-Neath' Southside Chapel. Officiating will be Mr. John Strong. Interment will follow in Forest Park West Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. Wednesday September 2, 2009 at the funeral home.
Sam was born on October 19, 1926 in Shreveport, LA to Thomas and Mary Lopez. He passed away on August 31, 2009. He was life-long resident of Shreveport where he has been a devout Christian member of Smith Ave. Church of Christ for over 50 years. Sam proudly served his country in the U.S. Army Air Corps in the military police. He was an owner and operator in the floor covering business. The love and kind heart of Sam touched everyone around him and will be missed by all.
His parents preceded Sam in death. He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Mattie N. Lopez, sons, Tony and (Barbara), Don, Perry and (Nancy), Mike and (Wanda), Paul and (Rhonda) and Carlos Lopez; daughters, Annette Little and Sheila Adams; brother, Tony Lopez; 11 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. Special friends, Joe Best and Johnnie and Janet Robinson.
Pallbearers are Charles Tudor, Barry Doyle, Jacob Doyle, Brian Clark, J. C. Gaskin and Matt Gaskin. Rose-Neath Funeral Home
