There are several Loos entries in the book Pennsylvania German Pioneers by Ralph Strassburger and William Hinke, which is a compilation of early ships lists:

Jacob Loos, 24, Ship Edinburgh, October 2, 1753
Johan Jorg Loos, 38, Ship Edinburgh, October 2, 1753
Johan Christoph Loos, 23, Ship Lydia, September 20, 1743
Lodowick Loos, 18, Ship Charming Nancey, November 9, 1738
John Jacob Loos, no age, Ship Adolph, August 27, 1785
Johann Heinrich Looss, no age, Ship Crawford, October 25, 1773

In the signature volume of this book, it shows that all were able to write their names except Johan Christoff Loos. His name was written by someone else, probably a clerk. The Ship Adolph (John Jacob Loos, 1785) was not included in the signature volume. Lodowick Loos was also not found on a signature list.

The Jorg in Johan Jorg Loos had an umlaut over the o. The men who signed the lists signed their last name with the German double s and that is why the name is sometimes spelled Looss.

Hope this helps someone!
