Adrian Daily Telegram, Wednesday, March 5, 2008, pg 2A Doris M. (Pollitz) Loomis Obit DUNDEE — Doris M. Loomis, age 81, of Dundee passed away at 4:45 p.m. Monday, March 3, 2008, at the Evangelical Home in Saline, where she had been for two years. She was born in Ridgeway Township, Mich., Nov. 17, 1926, to Herman and Margaret (Loesch) Pollitz. She married Rex I. Loomis on Feb. 12, 1949, at Hillman, Mich. He passed away on Feb. 26, 1991. Doris was a waitress at the former Coffee Cup Restaurant in Dundee which is where she met her future husband. She was a resident at Rawson Place in Dundee where she served as a volunteer with other residents. Her survivors include three sons, Thomas of Toledo, Robert (Patti) of Tecumseh and Charles (Cindy) of Tecumseh; seven daughters, Mary Crutchfield of Britton, Donna (Richard) Klught of Britton, Betty (Arthur) Erickson of Manitou Beach, Joyce (Larry) McAnally of Adrian, Linda Friday of Addison, Jane (Dan) Heiden of Hillman and Judy (Phillip) Burgard of Farmington Hills; 19 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; one brother, Arthur Pollitz of Lansing; and one sister, Mary Lou Bunce of Dundee. Doris was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two brothers, Walter and Clarence; a son-in-law, Keith Crutchfield; and a daughter-in-law, Shirley Loomis. Friends may call on from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and from 1 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Cover Funeral Home in Dundee. Her funeral service will take place the funeral home at 11 a.m. Friday, March 7, 2008, with the Rev. Ray Hansen, pastor of the Ridgeway Church of the Nazarene, officiating. Burial will be with her husband, Rex, in Maple Grove Cemetery in Dundee. Memorial contributions in her name may be made to any charity of the donor’s choice. Notify Administrator about this message?
