Looking for info through a collateral line. Elizabeth LOOKINGBILL, dau. of Garth & Elizabeth m. William C. DAVIS, son of A.S. DAVIS and Melinda, in Leon Co, TX, per 'The History of Leon County'. An article in this book by WCD's gdaughter says the LOOKINGBILLs "came to Leon Co. with the DAVIS family", who were in Talledega Co, AL in 1850, and in Leon Co, TX by 1860.
My connection: W.C. DAVIS' sister Sarah (Sallie) DAVIS m. Jacob SHIREY and their dau. Elisa m. Pleasant PARKER in Leon Co 1890. My husband is descended from them.
Any help would be much appreciated.
